Direct Primary Care (DPC) is membership medicine. You pay one monthly fee directly to your primary care practice instead of the practice billing insurance for each visit. That fee covers ongoing primary care: office visits, follow-ups, care coordination, and direct access to your care team by text or phone.

Membership starts at $125 per month for adults and $25 per month for anyone under 18. Families who join as Founding Members pay the Founding Family Membership Rate, capped at $300 per month no matter how many people you enroll. Founding Members who join before we open in February 2027 keep their rate for life.

Your day-to-day care comes from Cavea Health’s team of physicians (MD/DO), nurse practitioners (APRN), and physician assistants (PA). Each clinician is identified by name and license type. Jacob DeWitt, MD, our Medical Director, trains and oversees the clinical team.

No. Cavea Health does not bill insurance for membership or visits, which keeps pricing simple and predictable. Most members keep a separate high-deductible or catastrophic health plan for hospitalization, specialists, and emergencies, since membership does not replace that coverage.

Generally yes. HSA funds can pay Direct Primary Care fees of up to $150/month for one person and $300/month for more than one, if you also keep a qualifying high-deductible plan. Our $125/month adult rate and our Founding Family Membership Rate (capped at $300/month) are within those limits. Check with your tax adviser.

No. Under Florida law (Fla. Stat. §624.27), a direct primary care agreement is not insurance and is not regulated as insurance. It is a direct contract between you and your primary care provider.

Both offer closer access to a primary care team. Concierge practices often charge a retainer and still bill your insurance for visits. Direct Primary Care charges one transparent monthly fee and bills no insurance at all, which usually makes it simpler and less expensive.

Cavea Health is based in downtown Lakeland, Florida and serves members throughout Polk County, including Winter Haven, Auburndale, Plant City, Bartow, and Mulberry, with home visits available in parts of that area.

Members can request a home visit when coming into the office isn’t practical. Availability depends on your location and medical need, and your care team will help you decide what’s appropriate.

Founding Members who join before Cavea Health opens in February 2027 get a lifetime price lock: we will never raise your rate for as long as your membership stays active. Your membership agreement spells out the exact terms.

Direct Primary Care and Medicare interact in specific ways. Some DPC practices formally opt out of Medicare to offer membership to Medicare patients, while others coordinate differently. Cavea Health coordinates referrals and advocates for you, but membership does not cover hospital or specialist bills. That is what a separate high-deductible or catastrophic plan is for.
